How Big is a C-Class Motorhome?

Class C Campers  are considered mid-range in terms of size. They will run between 21 feet and 41 feet long. In many circles, they are also called Super C Motorhomes instead of Class C Motorhomes. This type of RV is crafted atop either a truck chassis that has an attached cab section or a van frame. This gives them sturdiness that is essential for long trips while also making them more manageable to drive and park.

If you are worried about being able to drive the larger Class A bus-style Motorhomes, then a Class C will be right up your alley.

Although they are compact, many models on the market offer rooms that slide out when parked to give riders additional space.

Why Does Size Matter When Considering A Washer Dryer Unit?

Size always matters but perhaps not for the reasons you may think.

Of course, larger RVs will have more space for storage and other amenities such as a washing machine or a combo unit.

In addition to space, the amount of water storage and power supply will also play a part in the choice of installing a washer and dryer.

If a camper RV is too small, it won’t make sense to use 30% or more extra space purely for the purpose of laundry. Also, with every addition you make to your motor home, the weight will increase.

There are certain weight limits on each size and type of vehicle. The more you add will also have a dramatic impact on your gas mileage, water usage, and overall energy consumption.

Choosing A Washer Dryer For Your C Class RV

If stopping by the city to use a coin-op or battling lines in the RV park sounds like a nightmare, it is time to install a washer-dryer unit.

Class C rigs are much smaller so you will need to consider your needs carefully before selecting a unit.

Start by settling on a capacity. The most common is around 5-8 lbs depending on the make and model. There are larger units however they are not suitable for Class C rigs.

You also need to pay attention to the motor power. You won’t be washing blankets, but you will need something powerful enough to wash your daily clothes effectively.

Think about how often you will be running your washer as well. If you plan to use it daily you may need an automated washer but for occasional use, a portable washer may suffice.

You will also need to consider how you plan to dry your clothes. Some of the more affordable units don’t have a drying option. So you will need to have a drying rack.

Mid-range and higher-end models will use either spin-dry or heated air to dry your clothes. Think about your budget and your space requirements before settling on a purchase decision.

Let’s not forget about water consumption. The smaller the unit the less water you will need per cycle.

For a Class C rig, most washer dryer units will use between 8 and 10 gallons of water. Whatever type of washer dryer you choose, make sure you clean and maintain it on a regular basis to prevent mold and rust buildup.
